Moving to a slightly larger format than has been usual lately. This is going to be one complex scratching.
Step one, the drawing.
End of second day of carving
After the third evening. It's tedious but fun.
Model Complete 12/30
First casting of Paisley Butterfly. Finish is Inca Gold over Metallic Peridot over Italian Olive plus black. Reproducible because it's an A+G 9 4.
And this one A 13 7 6, which is bronze, Metallic Aquamarine over Metallic Blue Sapphire on a black background. Oh, and a little Metallic Rose on the tiny central flower.
This is the first casting on 1/6. Processed Silver over Peridot over Blue Topaz on a purple base. Strange its effect doesn't seem to reflect (to me) the connotations of the words.
But any way you look at it it is a A+H 11 9 18. That's all I need to know.
Internally carved cell cast acrylic. Such a strange animal in this particular zoo. But appealing.

Some new colors, new combinations. This one is metallic rose and metallic Inca Gold over black, Burgundy, and Hunter Green. Sounds more complex than it is in that it is applied quickly and fairly easily...well, I guess it needs a bit of an artist's touch but not really a big deal.
This one uses similar colors to that above but adds aquamarine and Peridot. I figured there are over 30 million combinations to span all the colors I routinely use, but random combinations don't always look very good. It's always important to be able to track and reproduce the effect, thereby somewhat "standardizing" it. These two are examples of the code I use, with the (above) Celtic Love A C D 10 4, and (left) Eclipse A D 10 11 5
Chinese Dragon--Peridot Green over burgundy over black.
Celtic Shamrock. Peridot Green over Metallic Blue Topaz
I guess I'll call them Mandalas until I find something better. This is a Greek Floral Motif
And this is a Floral Fantasy Mandala
1/6 first cast for each of these. This is the Greek Motif Mandala.
