But within 200 years, the powerful Khmer civilization mysteriously collapsed.
This is a detail of a Devata. A Devata or deity is a multifaceted concept in Sanatana Dharma. There are very many different aspects of devata. Apart from object of worship, devata is a symbol representing different things in different forms of knowledge.

Sometime during the second day of carving.
Completed model, fourth day. That nasty yellow spot on her forehead is distracting. I encountered a small rock in the plaster which had to be dug out and patched with wood putty. This is about 6" x 11"
And the mold. Testing a new type of urethane, after being PMC-724 loyal for the last thirty years.
This is the first casting. The cast stone mixture was tinted with black and blue pigments, then a mixture of mineral oxide pigments and aniline dyes dissolved in alcohol were applied to the cured surface after two days in the mold. Finally, silver and copper metallic paints were dry brushed lightly on the projecting relief surfaces only.
